Tanzania Muslim Scholars Association (HAY-ATUL ULAMAA) has urged all Muslims to refrain from supporting CHADEMA after the party rejected to apologize for taking off head cover of Igunga District Commissioner, Fatuma Kimario in one of its campaigns recently.

Addressing Journalists in Dar es Salaam yesterday, the Secretary General of Muslim Scholars Association, Sheikh Hserally Hussein said that CHADEMA were given the grace period to apologize but defied adding that all Muslims should fear it like leprosy.

“We issued a rare chance of three-day ultimatum for CHADEMA to apologize because its act humiliated Islamic religion but surprisingly CHADEMA refused, which means they did not want to purify their political party” said Sheikh Hserally Hussein .

The Muslim Scholars said CHADEMA has despised and undermined Islamic religion and all Muslims should isolate the party.

He said Muslims should not vote for CHADEMA MP Candidate Joseph Kashindye of Igunga constituency because the party was fueling violence.

Recently, Igunga District Commissioner, Fatuma Kimario was roughed up by CHADEMA followers at a campaign at Isakamaliwa ward on grounds that the DC had interfered with their meetings.

Recently, CHADEMA apologized through a member of National Executive Committee Prof. Abdallah Safari who said the DC had put on head cover and not Hjabu’ as muslims claim.

The party urged all Muslims to ignore the propaganda which is perpetrated by party opponents to tarnish Chadema’s image..
